WALKING IN PARIS...Les piétons...

There is something about walking in this city.. There are no maps in the hands of the Parisians, they rarely drive in the city or take the metro ...they walk! In one of my favourite books Edmund White's The Flaneur he writes "Paris is a world meant to be seen by the walker alone, for only the pace of strolling can take in all the rich detail." You come here to discover your own special walk and I have found that winter changes both the pace and often the purpose. Strangers communicate by geometry as they approach one another .....the shadows, sounds and endless details while walking in Paris can entertain for a lifetime!

Rue Saint-Denis was an unexpected experience this evening as it took a nanosecond to realize c'est la rue pour les dammes de la nuit...what was surprising was their ages....definitely French hold nothing against (and who knows what else) older women. Love the fashion statements ....do we not believe the French take special care to stand out no matter what the profession....
