LE PÈRE LACHAISE

You can't walk quickly here! I was determined to find a few icons and it was not easy....however the cemetery covering 100+acres will keep your interest as will the encounters with people from around the world who are all lost. Met one Russian woman who is engaged to an American and we discussed the future of the arts under Putin...gasp and we think Harper (and is) bad! Imagine my delight when two French women complimented me on my accent.

Edith Piaf...simple and lots of fresh roses...

Oscar Wilde... Surrounded by plexiglass with many lipstick kisses...

Modigliani ..an artist J'adore! Note one of his paintings left on his grave....

Poor Maria Callas... In the Crematorium ...lonely as buried in the lower level...hard to find her!

This was a highlight....

Once saw Marcel Marceau in Montreal...lasting impression...

The history here is massive, and lovely moments to sit and remember those no longer with us. A special place to visit on a Sunday in Paris.
